I inherited a WordPress site for an organization with a membership in the millions and found sensitive signup functionality sitting in a public folder. I rebuilt the system instead of patching the problem.
DNVR and PHNX 2021 - 2022
I built the full WordPress front end for a sports media startup. Two days before launch the backend developer quit on a phone call, and the site was disconnected from AWS with nobody left who understood it.
Lacroix Hockey and Drill House Sports Center 2022 - 2025
Two sites for a hockey organization tied to Colorado Avalanche alumni, plus custom booking and payment tools. The new system brought the monthly software cost down from more than $600 to $25.
Vocation Action Network 2025
A WordPress plugin giving members control over their profile and password, built from scratch. Changing a password re-issues the auth cookie, so members stay signed in instead of getting kicked out.

A timeboxed Next.js 15 take-home rebuilding a news site's reader app against a headless CMS. I built the SEO surface, worked around a caching constraint I found, and documented the tradeoffs in DECISIONS.md.

Agency work across a 100+ client book. CMS architecture, a redesign recovery for a large multi-location dental group, conversion layouts that ended up being used across the company, and a credential breach that made me the person people called when something went wrong.

A full-stack React and Express site for a real estate consultant, with Stripe Checkout, verified webhooks, and TLS I provisioned myself on EC2. Shipped and ran in production without a technical issue.
Restaurants, a car dealership, and six years behind a bar. Then software. Most people read that as a career change. I read it as the reason I'm good at this one.
Twelve years of talking to people for a living teaches you how to explain something complicated to someone who didn't ask for a lecture, and how to stay level when everything breaks at once. That turned out to be most of the job.
